There are few people in today’s day and age who would say they wouldn’t want to save a little money here and there. But most people think they need to take huge steps to do so. But as stated in the Tao Te Ching, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Saving money begins with single steps, and as Dory said, “Just keep swimming.”

PointClub’s command center has been renovated! All the important stuff is still there, but we have added – and will continue to add – some new and fun features. We figure if you’re going to be completing surveys to earn those points for payout, you might as well have fun while you do it. Right? Right? Right!

PCHQ Reveal Banner

DailySweeps ShoutBox Up Front and (slightly right of) Center!

Are you one of our members who wait with great anticipation for the DailySweeps code to be posted to Facebook? (Hint: If you don’t, you should.) We’ve made the DailySweeps ShoutBox easy to spot and available on each page of the renovated site. Check out the “Stuff you Might Like” sidebar and that DailySweeps ShoutBox is right at the top.

Just copy and paste that code each day, and “like” the original post on Facebook, and you might win 1,000 points!

Speaking of “Stuff You Might Like”

That handy dandy sidebar offers a wealth of information and fun! You should note that the content when you’re on your Missions page is different than the content when you’re on your PointBank page.

What might you find there? So glad you asked!

  • Highlighted storylines from our Member GuideBook. Learn the Origin of Captain PC. Learn who the heck Dennis the Overseer might be. And did you know Penny Wise and Lady PC are one in the same?
  • Links to Tips and Tricks, either in our Member GuideBook or the PointClub blog!
  • Spotlights on some of your Reward options. You can receive payout via directly to Paypal or select from our variety of gift card options.
  • Current and past quizzes to do for fun (and maybe even points!)

The sidebar is updated each week! We shift around content and add new things.

Access the Member GuideBook from any page!

Wherever you might be on the PointClub site, you can easily access the updated Member GuideBook. Check out the bottom left corner. Click on that icon and page one of the GuideBook will open for you. What might you find here?

  • The Super-Powered World of PointClub. What is a survey distress signal? How do missions work to save the world from the chaos of not knowing? Learn that here.
  • Guidelines, Rules, and Tips. Learn to be the best survey superhero you can be. Know what to do, how to do it, and all the while avoid the downfalls and temptations of Super Villains!
  • Every Superhero has an origin story, and at PCHQ we have plenty of superheroes. Learn where they came from and why they do what they do.

Easy to Find and Utilize Help Center

We are here to help, and we’re making it easier for you to find the information you need. On any page of the site, check out the bottom right corner for the Help Center. Here you can read a variety of Frequently Asked Questions to help you in your superhero journey.

Can’t find what you need? Have a specific question on your account? You can send an email to help@pointclub.com or use the contact form available in the Help Center.

These updates are just the beginning. As we add more elements we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated. We want to be THE BEST survey site, and we’re working hard to get there. We’ll cover more features and new additions in the coming weeks.

When considering your options, you should know the following about PointClub:

  • Not every panelist is eligible to complete every survey; a fact we’ve already discussed. If you try, but are deemed ineligible, Captain PC has the authority to grant you points regardless of completion.
  • We grant signup bonuses and extra points for completing your initial panelist dossier.
  • We have one of the lower payout thresholds at $25, which you can take as payment to a Paypal account or through a variety of gift card offers.
  • We give away points every day via our Facebook page. Don’t leave out that daily checkin!

“Just bring a side” on a budget. It’s BBQ season!

“Just bring a side” on a budget. It’s BBQ season!

by

Memorial Day in America is the end of May and is viewed as the unofficial start of summer. With summer comes parades, trips to the lake or beach, picnics, and barbeques. You may not be hosting, but your mom, Aunt Edna, or maybe your boss are and they give the dreaded “just bring a side” recommendation. If you’re like most people, you’re working on a budget (and if you’re here, you’re probably doing surveys with PointClub to give yourself some additional cash).

Sure, you could grab a bag of chips or a veggie platter on your way, but maybe you want to wow a bit. Or at least make an impression. But you don’t want to break the bank, either. We at PointClub thought we’d share some inexpensive and easy to make side dishes as suggestions.Summertime Prices are estimates and may vary at your local grocery.

Watergate Salad (sometimes called Pistachio Fluff)

Ingredients:

Pistachio instant pudding mix
Cool Whip                   8oz
Maraschino Cherries  16oz
Pineapple Tidbits        20oz
Mini Marshmallows    16oz
Chopped Walnuts (optional)

Estimated Cost =         $14.36

Instructions:

It’s better to make this salad the day before the event, and let it sit untouched overnight in the refrigerator.

  1. Open and drain the cherries and pineapple. Set aside.
  2. Empty Cool Whip into bowl (the one you intend to take to the event).
  3. Stir pudding mix into Cool Whip. It will turn a pale green.
  4. Stir in cherries and pineapple (and walnuts, if you opted for them).
  5. Carefully fold in the marshmallows. You want to make sure they’re incorporated well, but don’t mix enough to break them down.
  6. Cover and leave in fridge overnight. It will be ready to eat the next day. By then the marshmallows will have softened. Keep cool if you can.

Amish Broccoli Salad

Ingredients:

1 head broccoli chopped *
1 head cauliflower chopped *
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
½ cup sugar
½ tsp salt
½ lb bacon, fried & crumbled
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Estimated Cost =         $18.46

* We’re all about easy, so we’re likely to buy a bag of raw, chopped veggies.

Instructions:

  1. Combine chopped broccoli and cauliflower in large bowl.
  2. In separate bowl combine mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, and salt to make dressing.
  3. Add dressing to vegetables and stir well until coated.
  4. Stir in bacon and cheese, holding a small amount aside for garnish on top.
  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tri-Color Pasta Salad

Ingredients:

Tricolor Pasta              12oz
Black Olives                 6oz
Peppers & Onions, pre-diced
Pepperoni, sliced        6oz
Italian Dressing           16oz
Feta Cheese                5-6oz

Estimated Cost =         $18.96

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta until it is al dente. Rinse and set aside to cool.
  2. Drain olives and cut pepperoni into ¼ slices.
  3. Add olives, peppers, onions, pepperoni, and feta cheese to cooled pasta.
  4. Pour in ¾ of the dressing and stir well.
  5. Cover and refrigerate. Stir in last ¼ of salad dressing before serving.

Gifts for Mom under $25 – Make those surveys pay!

Gifts for Mom under $25 – Make those surveys pay!

by

While taking surveys to make extra money can’t be considered a full-time gig, it can be lucrative enough to help with occasional expense. Like buying a gift for a special mom in your life, whether her children have two legs or four.

Shopping Online General V2

The links below are for Amazon, since it’s pretty much the number one shopping spot online for most people. But even if you don’t buy at Amazon, these might spark some ideas where you might spend your next PointClub redemption for Mom.

Have some fun with this special message for Mom on a coffee cup.

“Mom, no matter what life throws at you, at least you don’t have ugly children.”

A little tongue in cheek, but if your mom has a sense of humor and a love for coffee (or tea) this might make her smile.

Tell her “I love you, Mom” with this Sterling Silver Heart Pendant

You can choose the color accent and give Mom a pretty necklace she’ll love to wear and brag about.

There’s an oil for that… and this aromatherapy bracelet will make sure she takes it with her.

If your mom loves essential oils, she’ll love this essential oil diffuser bracelet with leather band. Comes in a lovely gift box, too.

Does Mom love to be outside in her garden?

This lovely suncatcher has pressed flower wings and a charm engraved with Mom.

Because not all children have two legs – this Dog Mom wine tumbler

But… there are other options with this seller, too. So be sure to check out all the different styles and designs.

Did any of our suggestions spark some ideas? We hope so. Here at PointClub, we’re happy to help by offering you this extra cash option. Not with PointClub yet? We invite you to sign up. We’re not the only survey site out there, but we endeavor to set ourselves apart.

Maintaining Focus as Your Own Boss

Maintaining Focus as Your Own Boss

If you’ve found your way here, we bet you’re interested in earning money, and completing surveys for rewards is one of many ways to add a little to your income. The beauty is it can be done just about anywhere, but many work on their side gig from home.

In 2017, 3.9 million American workers reported that they worked at home or remotely more than half of their work week, which represented a 51% increase from three years prior. More members of the workforce are making their home their office as well, or at least working partially from home to supplement their income (for instance, by completing surveys online).

Being productive while working in what is still considered an unconventional setting can be a challenge, especially for those amongst the “new W@Hers.” (more…)

Not All Online Surveys are Created Legal

Not All Online Surveys are Created Legal

by

As little as 10 years ago, the majority of online survey sites were less than trustworthy, if not outright shams. In the last decade, the balance has shifted and now the greater share of survey sites are completely legitimate.

Top 6 Creative Ways to Save Money

Top 6 Creative Ways to Save Money

by

Do you find yourself with empty pockets at the end of every month? If so, it might be time to get creative with your savings habits. Everyone comes on hard times, so read on to find out how you can be better prepared for your next rainy day.

6 – Cut Your Utility Bills

Unplugging your appliances every night can help save money because old devices, TVs, chargers, and kitchen appliances use electricity, even when they’re off. It might seem like a bit of trouble, but experts at Energy Star say that it can help you save about $100 a year.

5 – Replace Light Bulbs

Switching to compact fluorescent bulbs can help you save money on your electric bill as well. Full spectrum compact fluorescents are very appealing to the eye, and don’t feel “industrial” when used in the home. You can find them at any home improvement store.

4 – Sell Your Stuff

The Simple Dollar website suggests looing through your belongings and putting your unwanted items up for sale. You can either do a yard sale, OfferUp, or Craig’s List. Either way you choose, selling off unwanted items frees up space in your home and brings in some extra cash; a win-win for all.

3 – Flea Market Finds

Bring your smartphone with you and visit a local flea market, swap meet, or estate sale. Look up the value and desirability of items before you commit to them or you’ll be left with a bunch of unwanted items…and have to repeat #8 above. Well-planned purchases of vintage or antique items (as well as designer clothing & accessories) can yield a pretty penny if you play your cards right.

2 – Reduce Your Cable Subscription

Some of us pay upwards of $250 a month for cable/satellite TV. It’s just not worth it. Sure, you have access to 500 channels, but do you really need them all? If you write down the networks you mostly watch, you’re likely to find that you can do away with some or all of the premium movie channels and full channel packages. In fact, many people are switching to Internet-based TV now, which also saves a lot of money.

1 – AirBNB Your Next Vacation

In many cases, you can save money on accommodations when you choose to stay at someone’s place instead of a large-chain hotel. When you compare prices, you may be surprised to learn that some AirBNB rentals are more than 50% less than hotels. Try it before booking your next vacation and see how much you can save.

Saving Even More by Making Extra Cash

If you need some extra cash in your savings account, try getting paid to take online surveys. It’s a great way to make money in your spare time…and it’s fun. You’ll get to provide feedback to companies on all of the products and services you love. And at PointClub, you’ll get points for every survey you start. Points can be saved up and cashed in for money or gift cards.

PointClub is free to join, and we reward points to our members for surveys they finish as well as those they don’t. We’re the only site that helps you get paid for online surveys even if you can’t finish for some reason.

Join today for free and we’ll give you a $5 signup bonus and 2,000 extra points just for providing your email address and the data we need to start matching you up with our rewarding surveys.

Money-Saving Strategies Everyone Can Do

Money-Saving Strategies Everyone Can Do

by

One of the biggest reasons why many people live paycheck to paycheck is because they think they don’t have any money to spare for savings.” Honestly, you can’t afford not to save money in order to help get ahead financially.

Here are some easy ways to save some cash, even if you’re on an extremely tight budget.

Eliminate Debt

A recent article in The Cut online touts the benefits of paying off your smallest debts first while paying the minimum amount due on your other balances. Dave Ramsey was the first person to pioneer this financially savvy technique called the “snowball method”.

Multiple studies have been done to prove Dave’s theory. Basically, by following this method, you can get rid of your smallest debts, then take the money you’re saving from those monthly payments and apply it toward your larger balances (on top of with the minimum payment).

As you continue to “snowball” your payments into larger ones, your credit card balances begin to be reduced more rapidly. This method allows you to apply increasingly more discretionary money toward your debt. It also helps to pay it off more quickly than either making minimum payments on everything or paying off the larger balances first.

Keep Spending in Check

Mint.com suggests following the “50/20/30 rule.” This is a great spending rule to apply when you’re in your 20s because it helps to establish budget guidelines that can help future goals be achieved. But, it’s never too late, so start applying this rule as soon as possible.

The rule states the following:

  • 50% of your income can be spent on basic needs such as rent, groceries, and your gas/electric bill.
  • 20% of your paycheck should be put away into savings and paying off debts.
  • 30% of your take home can be spent on non-essentials like eating out, entertainment, travel, etc.

When you follow these guidelines for spending parameters, you’re far more likely to stay within a budget that can help you get ahead. Many people who have applied this principle have been able to keep debt low, save up for what they want, and go on more vacations.

Earn Some Extra on the Side

Savings accounts are as simple as money in versus money out. If you need to make a little extra cash to help you pay bills or add to your savings each month, why not get paid for online surveys?

They are quick, easy, fun, and very rewarding. Some serious survey-takers report making between $12 and $18 an hour. Many online paid survey jobs offer more than cash; you can earn points that can be cashed in for prizes or gift cards.

PointClub is one of the best paid online survey sites because we reward points for every survey you start. That’s right! Even if you’re unable to finish your survey because your baby woke up from nap or your neighbor wants to chat, you’ll still get rewarded just for trying.

Your points earned can be traded in for cash or gift cards, so don’t wait another day. Join for free today and get a $5 bonus for signing up!
