Very few of us would say, “Nah, my finances are golden. I don’t need a side hustle. I couldn’t use any more extra cash if it were handed to me.”. For the majority of the population, a little extra padding in the wallet or bank account would be a welcome change. But, maintaining two work schedules can be downright impossible. So, what can you do?
It’s a great time to have a side hustle. You can do it any time, anywhere – from your phone, from your couch watching TV – from anywhere outside of work. In addition to earning money, you can help others and have fun doing it!
Here a few examples to get your brain in side hustle mode:
5. Utilize a Skill You Already Have.
Do you find yourself correcting your friend’s grammar all the time? Well, then I have the answer for you. You should become a freelance editor.
Or, How about you spend your evenings watching television and knitting or crocheting blankets, booties, sweaters, or purses? You should most likely think about opening an Etsy store. You would be able to sell your work.
Do you love to bake? You could sell your baked goods to local businesses or markets as your side hustle.
If fact, are you good at math, science, or a second language in your school? If so, then you should offer private tutoring in your home or via an online program. Check out this article offering a list of legitimate online tutoring jobs.
4. Become a Mobile Notary.
Every state in the country has different requirements for becoming a notary. Did you know, you can set your own hours and do as much or as little notarizing as you want. You can either search “Become a Notary” in your state, or check out one stop sites like the National Notary Association.
3. Drive for Uber or Lyft.
Would you believe you don’t even need your own car? There are options with both Uber and Lyft to coordinate the use of a car not owned by you. OR, if you do have a car you can see if your own car is eligible. Also, while you’re at it, you could be a delivery driver for Uber Eats, GrubHub, or Postmates.
2. Trade in textbooks, electronics, and more at Amazon.
This is an option we’d never even heard of but wishing we had! Seriously? You can trade in stuff and get money to buy other stuff? Oh yes!
So, it’s not a straight work-to-cash type of side hustle. You can enjoy the benefit of getting rid of stuff. And then you are able to get the stuff you DO WANT. Check out the Amazon Trade-In option.
